OHXOJA is a textile art studio that seeks to have an original approach
Inspired by the sea and nature, Catarina Cruz and Tiago Amaral, self-taught textile artists, handcraft contemporary Portuguese wool tapestries for walls and floors using a variety of techniques, from magic needle weaving, gun tufting, and textile sculpture. The bas-relief is worked with scissors, accentuating shapes, light, and shadows. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable, reflecting emotions or memories and providing both a visual and tactile experience for its owner.
Raising awareness about how human behavior impacts the environment is one of the concerns in his creations.
