Iva Viana brings a contemporary perspective to materials and techniques, hand-in-hand with the past. Her passion for "handcrafting" and her continuous experimentation with the intersection of manual stucco molding procedures with modern casting processes for different materials mark a desired intersection between past and future, applied to the objects, buildings, and even the landscape upon which she proposes interventions.
The Iva Viana Sculpture Studio was founded in 2013, out of a desire to explore, to create with freedom and autonomy, and to breathe new life into traditional decorative plaster sculpture techniques.
